Responsibilities

The Weatherization/Energy Efficiency Technician is an entry-level role designed for individuals interested in improving energy efficiency and sustainability in residential buildings.

Responsibilities include:

  1. – Conducting energy audits, identifying areas of energy loss, and implementing weatherization measures such as insulation and sealing air leaks.
  2. – Installing energy-efficient systems and ensuring compliance with energy codes and standards.
  3. – Operating diagnostic tools, recommending efficiency upgrades, and educating clients on energy conservation practices.

Skills

  1. Energy Efficiency Expertise: Knowledge of weatherization techniques and energy-saving practices.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Experience using diagnostic tools like blower doors and infrared cameras.
  3. Construction Skills: Familiarity with insulation, sealing, and other building retrofitting methods.
  4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify and resolve energy loss issues effectively.
  5. Physical Stamina: Capable of performing labor-intensive tasks in diverse environments.
