Responsibilities

The Safety Manager is a leadership role designed for individuals with expertise in safety management within the sustainable construction industry.

Responsibilities include:

  1. – Develop and implement safety policies to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  2. – Conduct risk assessments and provide training to employees on best safety practices.
  3. – Oversee incident investigations and maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  4. – Work closely with project managers to integrate safety measures into all construction phases.
  5. – Focus on sustainability-related safety concerns, including the proper handling of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient construction techniques.
  6. – Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the team and construction site.

Skills

  1. Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Expertise in OSHA, EPA, and industry safety standards.
  2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards.
  3. Incident Investigation: Skilled in analyzing workplace incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  4. Training & Development: Experience in conducting safety training for employees at all levels.
  5. Construction Site Experience: Background in construction or sustainable building practices.
  6. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate safety policies and procedures.
  7. Leadership & Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to improving safety culture and resolving safety issues.

Certifications Required

  1. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
  2. First Aid/CPR Certification
  3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  4. CPR/AED Certification
  5. Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Certification

Certifications Preferred

  1. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
  2. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  3. Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  4. Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
  5. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Certification
