Responsibilities
The Journey-Level Plumber is a skilled trade role focused on installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, drainage, and venting systems in commercial facilities.
Responsibilities include:
- – Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water, gas, drainage, and venting.
- – Follow blueprints, comply with codes, and select appropriate parts for installations.
- – Solder pipes, troubleshoot plumbing issues, and document all work performed.
- – Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards.
Skills
- Plumbing Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in plumbing systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes, fixtures, and plumbing appliances.
- Licensing and Certification: Possession of appropriate plumbing licenses or certifications as required by local and state regulations.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints and schematics to plan and execute plumbing installations accurately.
- Pipefitting: Skill in cutting, threading, and joining pipes of various materials, including copper, PVC, and steel.
- Troubleshooting: Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Tools and Equipment: Competence in using a wide range of plumbing tools and equipment, such as wrenches, soldering irons, and pipe cutters.
